[8.20.2017] Jeronimo Appears on Korea’s KBS Talk Show
Dear Friends,
Team Jeronimo has been hard at work and just returned from Korea after conducting 9 interviews from July 17 – August 21. We also hosted the Jeronimo Supporters’ Appreciation Night there, thanking all the supporters thus far.
Moreover, one of the Korean talk shows found the story of Jeronimo Lim and Korean immigration history in Cuba extremely inspiring and invited me to speak in depth on how I got involved in this project and what I believe to be the symbolic message Jeronimo conveys to us.
I only hope that Jeronimo Lim and his family, and the Koreans in Cuba will get the sole credit and spotlight as a result of this interview and our ongoing filmmaking process.

다큐 “헤로니모”에 관심을 가져주시는 모든 분들,
지난 두달간 한국에서 촬영 및 헤로니모 선생님을 알았던 모든분들과의 인터뷰를 마치고 저희들은 뉴욕으로 돌아왔습니다.
한국에 있는 동안 KBS “톡소다” 프로그램에서 임은조 선생님과 쿠바 한인사에 관심을 갖고 저에게 인터뷰 요청을 했습니다. 사실 저는 혹여나 쿠바 한인들과 임은조 선생님 가계가 아닌 아직 작품을 끝내지도 않은 초짜 감독인 제가 부각될까 거절을 했지만, 당시 마침 광복절 시기였고 이 때 쿠바 한인 이민사가 더 널리 알려지면 좋겠다는 생각이 더 강하게 작용하여 결국 인터뷰를 진행했고, 부디 헤로니모 다큐 제작에 긍정적으로 영향을 받기를 기대합니다.
이제부터 향후 6개월간, 뉴욕 외 마이애미에서 촬영, 쿠바 마지막 촬영, 후반작업 등 여러 막판 작업이 남아있습니다. 시간이 아직 더 많이 투자되어야 하기에 열심히 임하겠습니다.
마지막으로, 저희는 모든 제작비가 개개인의 후원으로 이루어지고 있는 만큼 여러분께서 후원해주시면 큰 도움이 될것입니다. (모든 후원금은 촬영비, 출장비, 카메라 및 장비 대여, 저를 제외한 다른 이들의 인건비, 자료 라이센싱 비용 등으로 사용되고 있습니다. 저 스스로는 처음부터 인건비를 받지 않기로 했었거든요.)
